FULL DOG GROOMING ROBERTSBRIDGE
Claire welcomes dogs from Robertsbridge to Cockapoo Cottage & Friends in Battle for Full Dog Grooming that takes care of the entire coat from initial preparation through to the finished style.
Rather than deciding on a haircut based on breed alone, Claire considers the texture and condition of your dog's coat, its current length, their lifestyle and the finish you'd like to maintain. This allows each groom to be adjusted to suit the individual dog, whether you're looking for a practical everyday trim or would prefer to retain more coat.
Appointments are one-to-one, giving Claire the opportunity to concentrate on your dog throughout each stage of their groom.
Preparing the coat properly is an important part of achieving the final result. A Full Groom brings the different stages of professional coat care together within one appointment.
Depending on your dog's needs, this can include:
Two thorough washes with suitable grooming products
Warm blow drying
Brushing and complete coat preparation
Nail clipping
Face, feet and sanitary trimming
Full haircut and styling
A finish adapted to your dog's coat and preferred look
One-to-one care with Claire
PUPPY GROOMING ROBERTSBRIDGE
For puppies from Robertsbridge, early grooming appointments can provide an introduction to the experiences they'll encounter throughout a lifetime of professional coat care.
Claire's Puppy Grooming at Cockapoo Cottage & Friends gives young dogs an opportunity to meet their groomer and discover grooming gradually in a peaceful, one-to-one environment.
A puppy can begin experiencing being brushed and handled, bathing and drying, grooming equipment and having their face, feet and paws touched before all of these unfamiliar things need to happen as part of a longer adult groom.
Early appointments aren't only about appearance. They can also help make the individual stages of professional grooming more familiar to your puppy as they grow.
Claire can introduce:
Gentle coat handling and brushing
Professional bathing
Warm drying
The grooming table
Grooming tools and equipment
Face, feet and paw handling
Nail handling
One-to-one time with their groomer
The foundations of a regular grooming routine
DOG BATH & TIDY ROBERTSBRIDGE
A Dog Bath & Tidy can be ideal when your dog's coat needs professional attention but its overall length and shape don't yet need changing.
Claire welcomes dogs from Robertsbridge for Bath & Tidy appointments at her Battle grooming cottage, providing a thorough wash, dry and brush-through before tidying the areas that need some additional maintenance.
This gives owners a way of keeping the coat fresh and manageable between Full Grooms rather than waiting until everything needs attention at once.
If you're happy with your dog's existing haircut, a maintenance appointment can concentrate on coat care and tidiness while preserving the main style.
A Bath & Tidy can include:
Two thorough washes
Products selected for the individual coat and skin
Warm blow drying
Thorough brushing
Face and feet tidying
Sanitary trimming
Nail clipping
Calm one-to-one grooming
DOG TEETH CLEANING ROBERTSBRIDGE
Owners travelling from Robertsbridge can also book Emmi-pet ultrasonic Dog Teeth Cleaning with Claire as part of the oral-hygiene grooming services available at Cockapoo Cottage & Friends.
Rather than using a conventional brushing action, Emmi-pet combines ultrasound with specialist toothpaste and operates without the usual mechanical scrubbing associated with tooth brushing.
Its quiet operation works particularly well alongside Claire's calm, individual approach, providing owners with another element they can consider within their dog's ongoing care routine.
For owners looking to include teeth cleaning alongside regular grooming, Emmi-pet provides an ultrasonic option without conventional brushing.
The service offers:
Emmi-pet ultrasonic technology
No conventional brushing or scrubbing
Specialist Emmi-pet toothpaste
Quiet operation
An option for ongoing oral-hygiene maintenance
Individual attention with Claire
Please note: Teeth cleaning at Cockapoo Cottage & Friends is a grooming and oral-hygiene service and is not a substitute for veterinary dental treatment. If your dog has signs of dental disease, significant tartar, bleeding or painful gums, loose or damaged teeth, swelling or other concerning symptoms, please seek veterinary advice.
DOG NAIL CLIPPING ROBERTSBRIDGE
Nail care doesn't always need to wait until your dog's next haircut. Dogs travelling from Robertsbridge can have their nails checked and, where needed, clipped by Claire at Cockapoo Cottage & Friends.
Dog Nail Clipping can be incorporated into a wider grooming appointment or provided through a smaller maintenance visit where available.
Because individual dogs naturally wear their nails at different rates, Claire can assess the nails in front of her rather than assuming the same clipping frequency suits every dog.
Activity, nail growth and natural wear can all influence how frequently a dog's nails require professional attention.
Claire's nail maintenance can include:
Checking nail length
Careful clipping where required
Nail checks during regular grooms
Nail clipping alongside other grooming services
Smaller maintenance appointments where available
Patient one-to-one handling
Ongoing nail monitoring
DOG SPA TREATMENTS ROBERTSBRIDGE
Owners bringing their dogs from Robertsbridge can personalise grooming day with Claire's Signature Spa and additional grooming treatments.
These optional extras sit alongside Claire's core grooming services and can provide additional coat care, finishing touches or a little extra pampering according to the individual dog.
Because every appointment is centred around the dog being groomed, Claire can help owners understand which available treatments may complement their usual service.
Additional treatments allow you to add appropriate extras without turning every groom into exactly the same package.
Options can include:
Signature Spa treatments
Additional coat-care options
Grooming extras
Finishing treatments
Products chosen for the individual dog
Smaller grooming services
Claire's one-to-one attention
DOG FACIAL, FEET & PAW TIDYING ROBERTSBRIDGE
Sometimes maintaining a groom is about taking care of the details rather than starting the whole haircut again.
For dogs travelling from Robertsbridge, Claire offers facial, feet, paw and sanitary tidying to address areas that may become overgrown or untidy sooner than the main body of the coat.
This targeted approach can help extend the neat appearance of an existing groom while leaving the overall coat length unchanged where another Full Groom isn't yet needed.
Depending on your dog's coat and what has grown since their previous appointment, Claire can focus specifically on the areas requiring maintenance.
This can include:
Facial trimming and tidying
Tidying around the face where appropriate
Feet and paw trimming
Sanitary trimming
Nail clipping
Additional smaller grooming treatments
Advice for maintaining the coat between appointments
NERVOUS DOG GROOMING ROBERTSBRIDGE
Dogs who are nervous about grooming can have very different reasons for finding appointments difficult. Some dislike particular sounds or handling, while others may find the general activity of a busy salon overwhelming.
Claire welcomes nervous and anxious dogs from Robertsbridge to Cockapoo Cottage & Friends, where one-to-one grooming allows her to work with the individual dog in a quieter cottage environment.
With no busy multi-dog waiting area, Claire can focus on the dog she's grooming, observe their reactions and adapt her handling where appropriate. Regular visitors can also become familiar with Claire and the same surroundings over time.
There is no single approach that suits every anxious dog, which is why individual attention is an important part of Claire's grooming style.
Her one-to-one environment offers:
Individual appointments with Claire
A peaceful grooming cottage
No busy multi-dog waiting area
Patient handling
An approach responsive to the dog's behaviour
Consistency with the same groomer
Familiar surroundings on future visits
Focused attention throughout the appointment

Yes. Claire offers gentle Puppy Grooming to help introduce young dogs to professional grooming from an early age. Puppy appointments are designed to build familiarity with handling, brushing, bathing, drying and grooming equipment in a calm, positive environment.
We have two Puppy Packages; a Small Breed and a Medium Breed package. Please visit our Puppy Pricing or contact Claire for personalised advice.
I recommend introducing puppies to grooming as early as possible, ideally once they are fully vaccinated and able to go on walks
— usually around 3 to 4 months of age.
The earlier your puppy begins their grooming journey, the easier and more positive the experience is likely to be for them in the
future. Early introductions help puppies become familiar with bathing, drying, brushing, handling, and the sounds and sensations
involved in grooming.
I ideally like to see puppies every 2–3 weeks during their first 6 months, allowing me to gently build their confidence and help them
become relaxed, happy, and comfortable with the grooming process at their own pace.
My calm, one-to-one approach focuses on creating positive experiences filled with patience, reassurance, cuddles, and gentle
handling — helping your puppy grow into a confident little salon visitor for years to come.
Yes. Claire offers Emmi-pet ultrasonic Dog Teeth Cleaning to support your dog's ongoing oral hygiene. The system uses ultrasonic technology with specialist toothpaste and works without conventional mechanical brushing or scrubbing.
Dog teeth cleaning is a grooming and oral-hygiene service and does not replace veterinary dental treatment.
Yes. Claire offers Dog Bath & Tidy appointments for dogs that need bathing, brushing and freshening up without another complete haircut. A Bath & Tidy can also include nail clipping and tidying around the face, feet and sanitary areas where needed, helping keep your dog's coat clean, comfortable and manageable between Full Grooms.
Yes. Claire also offers smaller grooming treatments including dog nail clipping and face, feet, paw and sanitary tidying, helping keep your dog comfortable and well maintained between larger grooming appointments.
Absolutely. We specialise in calm, one-to-one grooming and take time to help anxious dogs feel comfortable. Let's book a meet and greet and discuss your dog's needs further.
Every dog is different, so grooming times can vary depending on your dog’s coat condition, temperament, age, and individual
needs.
As a general guide:
Bath & Tidy Appointments / Puppy Intro Sessions: approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
Full Grooms & Premium Pamper Appointments: approximately 2.5 to 4 hours
I work on a calm, one-to-one basis and never rush appointments. Some dogs are naturally relaxed and enjoy the grooming
process, while others — particularly elderly, anxious, or nervous dogs — may need additional comfort breaks, rest periods, reassurance, or extra time to settle.
Your dog’s comfort and wellbeing will always be far more important to me than rushing through an appointment.
As soon as your dog’s groom is completed, I will contact you to arrange collection.
Please kindly avoid arriving early or waiting outside the salon, as many dogs become excited when they see their owners and this can increase anxiety or make it difficult for them to settle and finish their groom calmly.
You can also check out our Places to Visit page to explore the lovely historic town of Battle if you choose to do so.
Your dog’s comfort, health, and wellbeing will always come first. Severely matted coats can be extremely uncomfortable and, in
some cases, painful for dogs, often pulling tightly on the skin and restricting airflow.
For this reason, heavily matted coats may need to be clipped short or fully shaved in the interest of your dog’s welfare.
Please note that de-matting is not included within the standard grooming price and is charged at £1 per minute. This additional fee
helps cover the extra time required, along with the increased wear and tear placed on grooming equipment.
Many breeds — particularly curly and long-coated breeds such as Cockapoos — are naturally prone to matting and require regular
brushing and coat maintenance at home between grooming appointments.
Where possible, I will always try to preserve your dog’s coat. However, under the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Act, prolonged
or severe matting can be considered a welfare issue and removing the coat may sometimes be the kindest and safest option.
I will always discuss this with you fully before proceeding and gain your consent prior to clipping or shaving a matted coat. I am also
happy to offer advice on home grooming routines, brushing techniques, and future coat maintenance to help achieve the style and
coat condition you would like for your dog.
Please note that severely matted dogs may require additional time and, in some cases, more than one grooming appointment.
