Terms & Conditions

Appointments
I agree to arrive on time for my pet’s appointment. I understand that arriving late may mean the groom needs to be shortened or
rescheduled. Cancellations or changes require at least 24 hours’ notice, otherwise a late-notice fee may apply. I understand that
pets must be collected promptly after their appointment, and that late collections may be subject to an additional fee.
Payments
I understand that a non-refundable booking deposit of £25.00 is required at the time of booking to secure my appointment. This
deposit will be deducted from the total cost of my dog’s groom on the day of the appointment.
Prices quoted are estimates and may change if extra time, specialist handling, coat condition, or additional services are required
Cancellation policy
I confirm If need to cancel or rearrange my appointment, I will give at least 24 hours’ notice. Where possible, and if Cockapoo
Cottage & Friends are able to refill my appointment slot, my deposit may be transferred to a future booking at their discretion.
I understand that deposits may be forfeited in the case of late cancellations, missed appointments, or no-shows where the
appointment space cannot be filled.
Health & Veterinary Care
I confirm that I have informed Cockapoo Cottage & Friends of any existing medical conditions and that my pet is up to date with
vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments. In the unlikely event of an emergency, I authorise Cockapoo Cottage & Friends to seek
veterinary treatment if necessary, at my expense. While every care is taken, I understand grooming can occasionally highlight
underlying health issues, and Cockapoo Cottage & Friends cannot be held liable for illness or injury related to pre-existing
conditions.
Senior or Medically Fragile Pets
I understand that grooming senior pets or pets with medical conditions carries increased risk. While every effort will be made to
keep them comfortable and safe, grooming is undertaken at the owner’s risk, and Cockapoo Cottage & Friends cannot be held
responsible for complications that may arise due to age, health, or existing conditions.
Products Used
High-quality grooming products are used. I understand that, as with any product, reactions can occasionally occur and Cockapoo
Cottage & Friends cannot be held responsible for sensitivities or reactions.
Right to Refuse Service & Parasites
Cockapoo Cottage & Friends reserves the right to refuse or stop a groom at any time if it is considered unsafe, a welfare concern,
or if a pet shows signs of illness, injury, severe stress, aggression, or parasite infestation. If fleas or ticks are discovered during
grooming, treatment and additional cleaning may be required. An extra fee may apply to cover this and to protect other pets in our
care.
Behaviour & Safety
My pet must be safe to handle. If aggressive or highly anxious behaviour occurs, safety restraints (such as a muzzle) may be used
if necessary. If a groom must be stopped for safety reasons, I understand I may still be charged for the time spent. I acknowledge
that grooming involves sharp tools and equipment, and if my pet moves suddenly or struggles, minor nicks or scratches can
occasionally happen despite every precaution.
Matting & Coat Condition
If matting is present Cockapoo Cottage & Friends will discuss the kindest and safest option for your pet. Severe matting may
require clipping short or shaving, which can carry risks such as skin irritation, small cuts, or revealing pre-existing skin issues.
Dematting fees may apply due to the additional time and equipment required. After grooming, some pets may experience
temporary redness, itchiness, or mild sensitivity. I understand and agree that Cockapoo Cottage & Friends cannot be held liable for any after-effects, reactions, or conditions that may occur as a result of dematting or shaving procedures, including those caused by
underlying coat or skin conditions.
Parking Agreement
I understand that, if arriving by car, I should kindly park outside the entrance to the close and walk to the grooming cabin where
possible.
I understand that this is a residential area with limited resident-only parking, including parking used by elderly residents, and I agree
to remain respectful and considerate towards neighbouring properties at all times.
I understand that these arrangements help maintain a peaceful environment for residents, and the surrounding community.
Dropping Off & Collection Agreement
I understand that Cockapoo Cottage & Friends operates on a calm, one-to-one grooming basis and agree to follow the drop-off and
collection procedures in place to help maintain a safe, peaceful, and stress-free environment for all dogs.
Arrive at my dog’s scheduled appointment time where possible.
Call or message upon arrival and wait to be greeted at the gate.
Avoid arriving early where possible, as dogs may not be left unattended during grooming appointments.
Help keep noise and excitement to a minimum when arriving or waiting nearby, to avoid disturbing dogs currently being groomed or the groomer’s own dogs relaxing in the home.
Understand that arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in part of the groom needing to be adjusted or shortened.
Wait to be contacted once my dog’s groom is complete before collection.
Call or message from outside upon collection so my dog can be safely brought out to me.
Refrain from knocking on the door or arriving unexpectedly, as dogs may be on the grooming table and cannot be left unattended.
I understand that these procedures are in place to support the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of all dogs, while also helping maintain
a calm environment for neighbouring residents and groomers own dogs.
Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and cooperation.
Abandonment Policy
Pets not collected within a reasonable time after their appointment, and where attempts to contact the owner have failed, may be
considered abandoned. In such cases, Cockapoo Cottage & Friends reserves the right to make appropriate arrangements for the
pet’s care, and any associated costs will be the owner’s responsibility.
